BARRAFIT - GB Fitness Program
Endurance, power, strength, speed, mobility…you’ll find everything you’re looking for in the BarraFit program. Arranged into sets of 4 fights, BarraFit is designed to replicate a Jiu Jitsu competition, pushing all athletes to both physical and mental limits. Whether you’re a professional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor or someone just looking to improve your fitness, this program will move you in the direction of your goal.
The program focuses on functional movements. There’ll be Jiu-Jitsu focused drills, “Ginastica natural” style flows and more. These sessions will help you develop the mobility and body awareness to both improve your fitness and reduce your chances of injury. Hence, you won’t find us lifting anything other than our own bodies here.
In a culture of “Bro-workouts” we often think that in order to sweat we need heavy barbells and kettlebells. However, whilst that type of strength training can be beneficial in certain aspects, it isn’t necessary to achieve great conditioning. Moreover, often without sufficient training experience or coaching, injuries can occur as a result. Here, this worry is non-existent! In the BarraFit program you’ll have one of our amazing coaching demonstrating the movements, whilst explaining the technique. They’ll be completing the session with you too, and it’s not often you see your fitness coach sweating with you!
We often forget that fitness isn’t everything. Just as it is important to train out bodies, we must never forget that we must train out minds too. Everyday we pursue this challenge on the mats and everyday we improve. By instilling this mindset into our fitness program, we are reminded to apply this mindset in every aspect of our lives too.
